Katie Kime is a vibrant lifestyle brand founded in 2013 and based in Austin, Texas. Known for its bold, colorful prints and whimsical designs, Katie Kime offers a wide range of products including clothing, home decor, wallpapers, and fashion accessories. The brand's unique style combines southern sensibility with global influences, resulting in a distinctive aesthetic described as "preppy chic goes globe-trotting." Katie Kime's creations aim to bring optimism and a touch of the unexpected to everyday items, making the mundane meaningful through thoughtful design and personalization options.
While I was hired to manage the company's social media, my daily tasks consisted of a diverse array of responsibilities that highlighted my versatility and organizational skillset. Beyond crafting and executing compelling social media campaigns to bolster brand presence and engagement, I also functioned as the Influencer Marketing Manager, forging impactful partnerships with influencers to broaden our audience reach and influence, as well as served as the administrator and editor of the company's daily blog. These roles collectively honed my ability to manage multifaceted projects and drive cohesive marketing strategies that aligned with the company's objectives.

As part of my responsibilities, I spearheaded influencer marketing initiatives, collaborating with both micro and macro influencers. I successfully coordinated a micro-mid level influencer trip that resulted in 7.7M reach on instagram, increasing the companies’ ROI of this campaign by 3309% and a social reach of 237%. I successfully coordinated gifting campaigns with micro and macro influencers, with notable influencers such as Kaitlyn Bristowe, Katie Sturino, and Kacey Musgraves, which significantly boosted our brand visibility. This resulted in an increase of social reach of 41% in one year.

My role encompassed identifying influencers whose values and content aligned seamlessly with the brand ethos. KK Daily is a blog attached to the company website that was launched in February 2024. Created for creative expression and storytelling, KK Daily is a place to receive daily content to get to know the founder on a more personal level. As the administrator and primary editor of the daily company blog, I held a multifaceted role that extended beyond overseeing daily content production. In addition to coordinating editorial schedules and ensuring timely delivery, I independently researched, wrote, edited, and published 3 articles to date. This comprehensive involvement allowed me to maintain high editorial standards while contributing directly to our content offerings. I fostered a collaborative environment within the team, effectively communicating project needs and deadlines to ensure seamless execution. My experience underscores my proficiency in managing complex workflows, from concept to publication, and highlights my commitment to delivering engaging, high-quality content consistently.

In March, 2024, Katie Kime launched a new city toile for Washington D.C. and partnered with the Roosevelt Hotel in D.C. to host a weekend trip for D.C. influencers I was responsible for. Here are the results from one weekend of an influencer event I was in charge of:

For the Holiday season, Katie Kime launched two new colorways for their holiday-themed toile print and expanded into matching family sleepwear. During this time I was responsible for identifying influencers that aligned with the brand, outreach and fostering genuine connections, while communicating on deliverables. I successfully managed Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest for Katie Kime. Using Planoly, I curated a social calendar for the CEO's Instagram posts, ensuring the inclusion of assets, captions, and optimal posting times. I employed Meta Planning and Tailwind for Facebook, Pinterest, and TikTok, handling content creation, posting, and maintaining the brand's voice to drive website traffic. Facebook and Pinterest posts were created with engaging assets, captions, and relevant links to boost site visits, with performance analytics closely monitored. I structured content into five categories: founder, product, campaign, storytelling, and blog-focused posts, incorporating carousels, reels, and stories for variety and engagement.

Each social platform reaches a different audience, and finding a way to communicate the brand while reaching a mass appeal is one key to social media success. Katie Kime was in between campaigns, and trying to bridge the gap of engagement on different platforms while creating evergreen content that could live on all platforms and give our audience an in-depth understanding of Katie Kime. After one Sunday of watching 73 question Vogue interviews, I had an idea. This ultimately led to a series called ‘Hey Katie’, posted on all platforms, where our founder answered 8 questions about herself tailored to her desires and inspiration that created her brand.

However, it's important to harmonize these trends with your brand's essence to ensure genuine involvement. Thoughtfully integrating trends while staying true to your brand's voice portrays your authentic integration within the online sphere. This fosters natural growth, fortifying your brand's footprint in the ever-evolving social media realm. Here are a few examples of how I utilized TikTok trends for Katie Kime:
This TikTok was a trend where people explained "If I won the lottery I wouldn't tell anyone, but there would be signs..." following with a product they would spend their winnings on. In an effort to connect with our audience, this was 'Katie Kime's' version of the trend.
This TikTok was a trend of people showing a screenshot of a tweet saying "Define you HAD to be there to experience it" following with a fashion trend from the early 2000's. This print of banana leaves was one of the first items that put Katie Kime on the map, and felt it was a good way to show our audience that Katie Kime can be "in on the joke" so to speak.
This TikTok was a trend showing a process of the before and after of something. Some utilized it for cooking or cleaning videos, others utilized it for different stages of life. I decided this trend could be an opportunity to show our audience more behind the scenes content from an on-site shoot in an effort to show the full 'picture' of the final product.
This TikTok was a trending audio at the time from a well known reality-tv show, Dance Moms. The video content on this trend varied, so I saw this as an opportunity to utlize behind the scenes content from an e-comm shoot to show our audience a peak behind the curtain while keeping the tone of the video light to align with the trend.
This TikTok was a trending audio utilized to show peoples' passions, careers, small businesses, etc. As Katie Kime had interest in showing her audience the person behind the name, participating in this TikTok trend was pivotal in maintaining the ethos of the brand.
